Eco Friendly Jungle Fun in One of the Finest Properties in the World
Tucked among the cliffs on the Peninsula Papagayo you’ll find a charming gem, The Four Seasons Resort. Do you love eco friendly, eco adventures? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Costa Rica is concerned about the environment and natural resources. The Four Seasons is too!
You will find glass bottles of water in your room as well as filtered water throughout the property. Toiletries are in refillable dispensers. The AC’s on and off switch is attached to the patio door so we don’t unintentionally waste electricity.
The wildlife is amazing. Whether you’re laying on the beach or sitting on your patio mother nature will provide a show.
Once you drive through the gates onto the property it is about a 10 minute drive to the hotel. Check in was easy and efficient. A drink in a coconut and a friendly welcome greeted us. If needed, there are golf carts available to help people get around this large property.
Our room was beautiful. It felt like the jungle was a part of the room. However, thankfully there are screens on the patio so the monkeys will stay outside. Monkey’s are cute. They are smart. They will also steal from you.
It was easy to drift off to sleep after a busy day. Both the luxury mattress and duvets are designed to provide both comfort and relaxation. And they did.
The roomy bathroom has a large tub and a rain flow shower head. The water pressure was perfect. Spa robes and the Four Seasons signature towels were plush and absorbent.
During your stay there is a lot to do. There are two beaches and four pools. We enjoyed the ‘quiet’ pool, there is also a kids pool and two main pools.
There are many opportunities to get in touch with your mind, body and soul—all just steps away from the beach. Some of the activities are complimentary. All of them are listed daily on the board.
You’ll notice the stars at night and of course the sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking. You are in the forest so you may find that bug spray comes in handy. Depending on the time of year you may also need an umbrella which the resort had in our room and around the property.
This property has three restaurants, pool and beach side dining as well as room service. The food was fresh and offered a nice variety. Wines and premium rums are available at each restaurant and there is a dedicated area for the mixologist and you to make memories in La Reserva.
Are you looking for a special dinner for an engagement, an anniversary or just because? Consider having the concierge arrange a beachside dinner. The atmosphere is incredible, the food and service and Champagne were delightful and the raccoon? Well, your service staff will chase them off. Seriously, if you have time, invest in this special touch.
Overall, our eco friendly experience was definetly a 5 star get away to remember. Oh, and yes, The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo did earn ‘One of the Finest Properties in the World’ for 2019 from Forbes Travel Guide.
